Embassy Attestation

Embassy attestation is original documents & certificates verification from the respective countries embassy. It is the stepwise verification procedure which simply depends upon the document origin of the from India. The documents are categorized into three different categories that follow:
  • Personal Documents (for example Birth certificate, medical certificate)
  • Educational Documents (for example Diploma certificates, degree certificates, etc)
  • Commercial documents (for example Free sale certificates, memor&um of association, company profile, etc)

Usually, Embassy verification categorized into 2 types that are apostille attestation & attestation. The difference between apostille attestation & attestation is that the countries fall under the Hague convention country list, accept only Apostille attestation. & the non-hague countries accept attestation. The procedure for both is slightly different. 
The procedure for Apostille attestation is as follows:
  • Regional Level is the first level of the document apostille procedure. In this level of authentication done by a notary and University from where the certificate was issued.
  • State Government is the second stage of the apostille procedure. The authentication of certificates from the state is performed by three different departments that are
    • State Home Department,
    • Human Resource Department,
    • Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
  • Apostille is the final level of apostille & is conducted by the central government. the MEA paste a sticker that contains the name & information of the respective applicant.
The procedure of Embassy Attestation is as follows:
  • Regional Level: The embassy attestation initializes with this step. At this step, the personal & educational documents get verified by the notary. In some circumstances, educational certificates by the university & commercial documents get verified by the Chamber of Commerce as per their type & from where the documents were issued.
  • State Level: It is the second step of the certificate in the attestation procedure. At this step, the document gets assured by the three organizations that are the
    • State Home Department (SHD),
    • Human Resource Department (HRD),
    • Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
  • Ministry of External Affairs Stamp: It is the third step of the certificate attestation procedure. In this, the document gets checked by the MEA Authority & stamp by the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
  • Embassy Attestation: It is the last step of the certificate attestation. In this, the embassy applies the stamp on the behind the certificate.
